New Doctor Who--Who Cares?

Apparently the BBC announced yesterday that actor Peter Capaldi will be taking over as the next Doctor Who. Capaldi is 55 now, so this a big change from the younger Doctors we've had in recent years and (perhaps) suggests a change in the series's demographics (or the network's propagandist strategies).


However, as my post's title suggests, I'm not sure I really care about the Doctor anymore.
